Caring for Your Flag

Congratulations on your purchase of a DANCEARMORY.COM flag. We take great care in the choice of materials, design, and quality of production to provide a high quality product that will last for many years with outstanding performance.

Proper care and handling of your flag will ensure that it stays beautiful and maintains its beauty and durability for a long time to come. 

Storing the Flag

Tissue lame fabric is very light and flowing; it will not lose its luster, is water resistant due to its metallic properties, and makes for a beautiful flag. However, it will wrinkle if not properly stored and handled, detracting from the overall look of the flag. When you are finished with the flag, always roll the flag around the stick by starting with the trim and rolling the fabric until it is completely rolled around the stick. Watch to make sure you are not rolling folds into it when rolling. Keep the flag rolled up when not in use or store it by hanging widthwise on the wall by the stick across two hooks.

Ironing the Flag

If you need to press the fabric, use a low temperature setting on the iron. Too hot an iron can damage the material. Start low and gradually adjust the temperature higher if needed. Do NOT go above the SYNTHETICS setting on the iron. Start at the top near the trim and iron in a downward direction to the bottom.

Cleaning the Fabric

If you need to clean the fabric, lay the flag flat and gently pat with a wet cloth or gently rub with the grain of the fabric. Try not to get the wooden stick wet if possible. If you do get the wood wet, dry it with a cloth by patting the wood. Do not rub the wood while it is wet. 

Cleaning the Stick and End Caps

To clean the handle of the stick, you can use a very fine sandpaper and gently sand off any dirt or grime, sanding in an up and down direction on the stick and around the ball. 

Storing Flags

We highly recommend that each flag be stored in a cover or case to protect the flag when not in use.  Individual cases can be purchased from DANCEARMORY.COM for minimal cost if you desire.
